Members of the Humphrey Alumni Association-Turkey gathered at our annual reception, met with the new alumni and the organizations we closely work with.

 

We organized annual alumni reception on 27 April 2018 at the premises of Turkish American Association in Ankara. The reception brough together more than twenty Humprey alumni and their family and officials from the Embassy of the United States in Ankara, Turkish Fulbright Commission, YES Alumni ve Fulbright Alumni Association.

 

Aysegul Cerci, President of the Humphrey Alumni Association, delivered welcome remarks and said annual events aim to unite the Humphrey community, which includes 90 alumni in total, and cherish the Humphrey experience at least once a year. Reminding that the association renewed its website (www.humphreyalumni.org.tr) in 2015, Cerci said they keep the alumni up-to-date on the Humphrey programme and events at their Facebook page (Humphrey Alumni Association-Turkey) as well and encouraged all alumni to follow or like the page. U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Counselor Scott Weinhold highlighted in their remarks the importance of Humphrey Alumni to furthering mutual understanding between Americans and Turks. We had the opportunity to meet new members of alumni community and two new Humphrey Program candidates for the 2018-2019 academic year and shared our experiences and some useful information about the program with them.
